109. Identify Your Gifts and Make a Lasting Impact with Rachel Solis

Episode Summary

It's the final week of Women's History Month and we are honored to have with us Ms. Rachel Solis, the Southern California Manager of Educational Partnerships with Collaborative Classroom. Ms. Solis believes that teachers are the number one contributing factor to student success. She encourages you to identify your own gifts, develop the five Social Emotional Learning (SEL) competencies and prioritize building strong relationships with like-minded students and adults. Find out how she has been able to use these five competencies to shape not only her life, but the lives of the many she comes in contact with. Ms. Solis represents Collaborative Classroom by supporting school districts across Orange County, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Los Angeles counties. With over 20 years in education and a strong literacy background, her mission is to disrupt the status quo and change the way we view teaching and student learning. She enjoys supporting educators in their learning and coming alongside districts as a thought partner with the goal of making schools an inviting place where ALL children feel success and teachers and students WANT to come every day! Ms. Solis facilitates professional learning with educators in the areas of reading and writing development, intervention, and social-emotional learning. She’s dedicated to supporting schools in redefining their purpose, ensuring equitable practices, and building intentional, purposeful environments where students are intrinsically motivated and educators are empowered to be the change.
