In today' episode, Christy McNorton, the Assistant Manager of Financial Services at California State University, Dominguez Hills offers ways to explore opportunities available to you to successfully finance your education. Find out why it's important to seek out scholarships, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, known as the (FAFSA) form and visit student financial offices during your initial tours of college campuses.⁠⁠ ⁠ Ms. McNorton completed her Master of Business Administration at University of Laverne and she received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Management at Howard University in Washington, DC. Born and raised a Los Angeles native, she worked for seven years in the credit union industry in Customer Service and Accounting, but found her niche in the field of education. After working for fourteen years at Inglewood Unified School District as a Budget and Financial Analyst, where she managed a $300M+ school construction bond, she also served as a Finance and Human Resources Manager for LAUSD and Budget and Grants Manager an Orange County Community College District. Ms. McNorton enjoys her engagement with the students and assisting them in understanding their financial obligations to the campus. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and is an active member of Park Windsor Baptist Church in Los Angeles.
