Being able to afford college to obtain your degree or vocational certificate is getting easier than you may have thought. In today's episode, we continue to Get Financially Fit for Financial Literacy Month with the CEO and Founder of the National College Resources Foundation, Dr. Theresa Price. Now, in her 24th year after launching The Black College Expo, Dr. Price encourages you to take advantage of the five pillars that will build up both you and your community. By attending this powerful and well-established expo, get ready to meet college admission professionals who are eager to enroll you and offer you a scholarship on the spot! Find out why Dr. Price believes you cannot make a mistake if you are trying to better yourself and be the best person you can be with the opportunities that await you! Dr. Price completed her Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast/Journalism with a minor in Speech Communications at California State University, Long Beach. In 2016, she received a Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Virginia University of Lynchburg. After noticing a surge in high school dropout rates, primarily among the underserved and underrepresented students, she was determined to make a difference. Since NCRF's inception, this Compton native’s organization has secured and distributed more than $1.5 billion in scholarships & grants and has helped over 600,000 students (over 450,000 first generation students) get into college, hosting over 200 College Expos produced by NCRF, and during the pandemic over 49 virtual college and career expos. In addition to The Black College Expo™, a fourteen-city U.S. tour, NCRF also offers the Latino College Expo™, and the Students Think S.T.E.A.M. Expo. In 2022, Dr. Price worked with HBCU presidents to launch a dual enrollment program for high school students to get college credits.
