124: Higher Education Is the Gate Key to Your Success with Dr. James Freddy Allen

For many Black students, attending a Historically Black College and University (HBCU) feels like a home away from home. In celebration of the full accreditation of Morris Brown College, we are joined by the Associate Vice President of Enrollment and Student Services, Dr. James Freddy Allen. Dr. Allen shares how enrollment has nearly doubled, as a result of their restored accreditation and he encourages all young Black men, in particular to attend college to improve their chances of success in today’s world. Find out about their “open door policy” and learn how he manages to maintain his own mental health while being a powerful example of leadership and change on his campus.⁠ ⁠ Dr. Allen completed his Doctorate of Philosophy in Higher Education/Leadership and Management at Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He received both his MBA in Business Administration and Management, as well as his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Healthcare Management at Argosy University Atlanta.
