129. You Are Not Alone with Dr. D'Andre Poole

Being resilient does not always mean we are OK. In this week’s episode, Dr. D’Andre Poole, Clinical Psychology professor at Morgan State University joins us to discuss the importance of addressing suicidal thoughts head on.⁠ As a faculty staff member at the largest HBCU in the country, Dr. Poole organized the first Suicide Prevention Walk on his campus in partnership with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). Find out how to let go of the stigmatization of mental illness, so that you can live a life filled with hope and optimism. ⁠ Dr. Poole completed both his Doctorate and his M.A. in Clinical Psychology at The American School of Psychology, Argosy University. He also received his M.Ed. in Counseling Psychology at Howard University and his Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Morgan State University. He serves as a Staff Psychologist at the University Counseling Center, an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Psychology, the Graduate Advisor for Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated Gamma Chapter, and as a Volunteer Assistant Coach for the MSU Tennis Team. Dr. Poole has specific interests in the areas of education, psychological testing/assessment, suicide prevention/awareness, sports psychology, gun reform, African-American relations, and psychodynamic/psychoanalytic theory.
