141. Mindfulness for Your Body and Your Brain with Tai Donnell-Louis

Episode Summary

Incorporating exercise in your daily routine will not only help you physically, but it will help you maintain focus and develop mindfulness that will support you throughout your day. In this week’s episode, we are joined by Tai Donnell-Louis, a graduating senior with a major in Biological Sciences at the University of California, Irvine (UCI). Tai shares how a family member’s illness inspired him to pursue a career in Neuroscience. Find out how the practice of yoga and his morning routine help him stay strong, focused and able to live a fulfilling life of intention. Hailing from Inglewood, CA, Tai’s unique journey began with homeschooling. It provided him the chance to cultivate his curiosity in STEM with his many cats. After transitioning to El Camino Community College at age 16, he navigated the challenges of being a first-generation, low-income student. Thanks to programs like MESA and his supportive professors, he successfully transferred to UCI. There, he uncovered his passion for Neuroscience through classes and research experiences. His mission is to become a medical scientist, conducting translational research to enhance our understanding of the human brain and improve the lives of those facing trauma and disorders. Alongside, he is committed to uplifting Black and underprivileged individuals through service and advocacy. To learn more about Tai and his field of study, connect with him on LinkedIn.
