Barton of the U.S. Air Force joins us today to discuss the educational benefits, travel opportunities and leadership development skills that can help you get one step closer to reaching the life goals that support your lifestyle. Lt Col. Barton completed his Master of Arts and Economics at the University of Oklahoma. He received his Bachelor of Science in General Engineering at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He is the Commander of the 369th Recruiting Squadron located in Encino, California. He leads approximately 95 personnel comprising six enlisted accession flights and two Military Entrance Processing Stations responsible for Air Force enlisted accessions across 1.8 million square miles covering six counties in CA and the USINDOPACOM Area of Responsibility. After completion of Joint Specialized Undergraduate Navigator Training at Randolph Force Base, Texas in 2003, he became qualified as a navigator on the RC-135 operated by the 55th Wing located at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska in 2004. Lieutenant Colonel Barton has served at the Squadron, Group, MAJCOM, Air Staff and Joint levels. He is a Senior Navigator with more than 2000 hours in the RC-135,TC-135, T-1 and T- 43. He is also an AFRICOM Foreign Affairs Officer. Prior to his current position, he served as the Director of Staff for the 338th Combat Training Squadron located at Offutt AFB, Nebraska.
