In today's episode to wrap up our Mental Health Awareness Month, Prevention Program Director, Jazmin Davalos from the Los Angeles Center for Alcohol and Drug Abuse (LA CADA) joins us to share how a poor sense of mental health can lead to unexpected substance abuse and addiction. Ms. Davalos explores how vulnerable athletes and college students are to the "fishbowl" that is introduced at house parties. Get ready to learn some coping strategies and prosocial activities to help you discover the personal joy that leads to your natural high. Jazmin completed her Bachelor of Science in Human Services at the University of Phoenix. She also studied Substance Abuse Education at ICDC College in Los Angeles, California. She has an extensive 13-year working history within the substance use profession, providing coordination of projects, primary individual and group counseling, and collaboratively advocating and working with parents and community partners. Jazmin is very passionate about saving lives and educating her community on preventative methods that support youth and young adults. Jazmin is also an ally for the LBGTQI+ community.
