76. Transitioning Through Grief with Sheniqua Lasker

Losing a loved one is often very devastating, but losing a beloved parent just before you head off to college can be debilitating. Today, we have Nutrition Specialist and Nu Lambda Chapter member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc., Sheniqua Lasker with us to share how she was able to navigate the loss of her father with the help of her sorors, family members and student health counselors. Sheniqua relied heavily on her faith in God and her fond remembrance of her father, in order to fulfill her educational pursuit of college. Sheniqua completed her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She was recently accepted to Johns Hopkins University and will be starting her Master of Public Health. Sheniqua has a passion for improving mental health outcomes in minority communities and chronic disease prevention.
